Content Blocks
Content Blocks
Content Blocks are reusable Website Builder sections. Build a block once, publish it, and insert it in one or more pages or menu areas.
Content Blocks are useful for:
- Repeated call-to-action sections
- Promotional strips
- Footer or menu content
- Product highlights
- About or contact sections
- Mega-menu columns
- Mobile drawer sections
How Content Blocks differ from Pages
| Feature | Page | Content Block |
|---|---|---|
| Has public URL | Yes | No |
| Can be opened directly by visitors | Yes | No |
| Can be embedded in another page | Usually no | Yes |
| Best for | Full page routes | Reusable page/menu sections |
Create a Content Block
- Open Website Builder -> Content Blocks.
- Click Add Content Block.
- Enter a clear title you will recognize later.
- Build the section in the editor.
- Publish the block when it is ready to use.
Use Content Blocks in pages
After publishing a block, insert it into a page using the supported Content Block element or section picker. If a block is unpublished, it may not appear or render publicly.
Use dynamic variables in rich text
Text and heading controls include a variable picker for visitor, store, and product information. Select variables from the picker instead of typing placeholder codes manually.
Available visitor values include the signed-in visitor's name, email, and profile image when available. Store values include your store name, slug, description, logo, address, phone, support email, website, and connected social profiles. Product-aware blocks can also use values such as product title, description, type, vendor, price, discount, coupon, rating, review count, and link.
Visitor variables remain blank when that visitor information is unavailable. Always write the surrounding sentence so it still reads naturally without the value.
Good practices
- Name blocks by purpose, such as
Homepage CTA,Mobile Menu Promo, orCourse Footer. - Keep reusable blocks focused and not too large.
- Publish a block only after checking it inside a page preview.
- Use descriptive headings and link text so search engines, screen readers, and AI assistants can understand the section without relying on its visual layout.
- Review pages that use a block before deleting it.
Troubleshooting
| Issue | What to check |
|---|---|
| Block does not appear in the picker | Confirm it is published and belongs to the same account/website. |
| Block shows old content | Save the block editor and refresh the page that embeds it. |
| Deleted block leaves a gap | Replace or remove references to the block from pages and menus. |
