Add Videos to Your Products

Add Videos to Your Products

Make your product listings stand out with video content. The Product Media feature lets you add YouTube or Vimeo videos to your product gallery, and you can set a YouTube video as your main thumbnail for an eye-catching autoplay effect.

Why Add Videos?

  • Stand out from static images: YouTube video thumbnails autoplay, catching buyers' attention instantly
  • Show your product in action: Demonstrate 3D model turnarounds, audio previews, template walkthroughs
  • Build trust: Videos help buyers understand exactly what they're getting
  • Increase conversions: Products with video often perform better than image-only listings

Media Limits

Your product gallery can hold up to 16 media items total. This includes both images and videos combined.

Examples:

  • 16 images + 0 videos = 16 total
  • 14 images + 2 videos = 16 total
  • 10 images + 6 videos = 16 total

Plan your media mix based on what best showcases your product.

How to Add a Video

  1. Go to your product creation or edit form
  2. Find the Product media section (above the image upload area)
  3. Paste a YouTube or Vimeo URL in the input field
  4. Click + Add to add the video

The video will appear in your product gallery alongside your images.

Setting a Video as Main Media

Just like you can set any image as your main image, you can set a video as your main media:

  1. After adding your video, it appears in the media gallery
  2. Select the video and set it as the main media (same way you'd set a main image)
  3. Save your changes

Autoplay Video Thumbnails

When a YouTube video is set as main media:

  • Product cards display the video with autoplay (muted)
  • Your listing stands out from standard static thumbnails
  • Buyers see movement which draws attention in search results and category pages

This is especially effective for:

  • 3D model turntables and animations
  • Music visualizers and audio previews
  • Book trailers and flip-through previews
  • Course introductions and product demos
  • Design process timelapses
Vimeo Limitation

Vimeo videos do not autoplay as thumbnails due to platform restrictions. If you want the autoplay thumbnail effect, use a YouTube video as your main media. Vimeo videos still work great in your product gallery for viewing on the product page.

Best Practices

Video Content Tips

  • Keep it short: 30-90 seconds is ideal for product showcases
  • Show the product clearly: Focus on what buyers will receive
  • Good lighting and quality: Grainy or dark videos hurt conversions
  • No excessive branding: Keep focus on the product, not lengthy intros

Technical Tips

  • Make sure your video is publicly accessible (not private or unlisted with restrictions)
  • Use high-resolution videos (720p minimum, 1080p recommended)
  • For autoplay thumbnails, use YouTube (Vimeo doesn't support autoplay)
  • The video thumbnail from YouTube/Vimeo will be used, so choose a good thumbnail there

Use a YouTube video as your main media for the autoplay effect, then add Vimeo videos and images to your gallery for additional content. This gives you the best of both platforms.
