The Booking area is where sellers manage time-based products such as appointments, webinars, live classes, and consultations. It works together with [Booking products](/creating-products/booking), payment gateways, customer orders, and your store calendar.

## What you can manage

| Area | Use it for |
| --- | --- |
| Catalog | Organize booking services and service types. |
| Availability | Set weekly hours, date overrides, timezone, and blocked time. |
| Bookings | Review upcoming, past, cancelled, pending, and completed sessions. |
| Calendar | See appointments and webinars in a calendar view. |
| Employees | Manage staff profiles that can deliver booking services when enabled for your account. |
| Workflows | Send booking emails such as reminders, confirmations, cancellations, or follow-ups. |
| Appearance | Choose the booking layout buyers see on the product page. |

## Recommended setup order

1. Confirm your seller profile and payment gateway are ready.
2. Create or review your Booking service type in **Catalog**.
3. Set your weekly availability and date exceptions.
4. Create a [Booking product](/creating-products/booking).
5. Preview the product page and confirm slots appear correctly.
6. Publish after review.
7. Monitor appointments in **Bookings** and **Calendar**.

## Booking product lifecycle

Booking products follow the normal product lifecycle: draft, review, publish, schedule, unpublish, and edit. When a buyer selects a time and checks out, the selected slot is held during checkout and then becomes a confirmed booking when payment or approval completes.

Confirmed bookings can appear in:

- Seller **Bookings** and **Calendar**
- Buyer [Meetings](/managing-your-dashboard/meetings)
- Seller orders and customer records
- Purchase/refund history where applicable
